The West Central Connection is a resource of the West Central Baptist Association in Indiana. The contributors are pastors, staff members, or leaders of West Central churches. Our hope is that this blog will bring greater unity and collaboration within our churches so that together they might fulfill the Great Commission more effectively. The blog is maintained and edited by the current moderator, Dr. C. Michael Wren, Jr. The WCBA is affiliated with the State Convention of Baptists in Indiana (SBC).
C. Michael Wren, Jr. is the Senior Pastor of New Life Baptist Church in Greencastle and is the current moderator of the West Central Baptist Association. He has served New Life since May of 2010 and has a Ph.D. in church history from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has previously served as the pastor of a church in South Carolina and Instructor of Christian Studies at Truett-McConnell College. He and his wife, Angela, have two children.
Garry Jones is a Church Planting Catalyst with the State Convention of Baptists of Indiana, serving 60 churches in the western region of the state. He has previously served on a church staff as minister of education and as a strategy coordinator for the International Mission Board in Queretaro, Mexico. Garry has a B. A. from Indiana Christian University and has attended the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Lori, have two married sons and one granddaughter.
Larry Snyder is the pastor of Victory Baptist Church in Clinton.
Jake Evans is the Senior Pastor of Sugar Creek Baptist Church in West Terre Haute, IN. He has served Sugar Creek since August of 2009. He holds an M.A. in historical and systematic theology from Wheaton College Graduate School and is currently working toward a M.Div in worldview and apologetics at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jake is married to his wife Christina and they have three children, Joey, Natalie, and Nicholas.
Roger Bear and his wife, Rose, serve the campus ministry at Indiana State University in Terre Haute.
Bryce Ulrich joined First Southern Baptist Church, Terre Haute, as Senior Pastor in February of 2013. A native of Jacksonville, Alabama, Bryce earned his B.S. degree from Auburn University in Agricultural Business & Economics and his M.Div. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Before submitting to the Lord’s call to ministry, Bryce spent nine years working in the business world. Bryce is married to April and they are blessed to have one son, Hamilton.
